Aisha Buhari Visited The Less Privileged Children In Umuahia
By Anayo Okoli UMUAHIA—WIFE of the President, Mrs. Aisha Buhari, last week donated food items to 1000 indigent rural people in Abia State to cushion the effects of the harsh economic condition. Donated under the umbrella of her foundation, Aisha Buhari Foundation and Future Assured, Mrs. Buhari gave them 1000 bags of rice, 1000 cans of cooking oil, tomato paste, and other food supplements to 1000 indigenous Abians.
The beneficiaries were drawn from the 17 LGAs of the state, and they included indigent men and women, widows and the disabled. The items were presented to the beneficiaries by the wife of the state’s Governor, Mrs. Nkechi Ikpeazu. Speaking shortly before distributing the items, Mrs. Buhari said that she chose Abia State because of the special love she has for the people. She also expressed the desire to bring more goodies to Abia through her office and her Foundation, even as she called on well-to-do people to get involved and seek ways of helping the less-privileged members of their communities. According to her, those who are blessed by God should see it as a duty to help others who are not so fortunate, saying that “it is the only way we can make our world a better place for ourselves and, especially, for our children and assure them of a brighter future.” In his remarks, Governor Okezie Ikpeazu thanked Mrs. Buhari for her generosity and kindness to Abians and promised to always support her programmes.http://www.profjay.com/2016/07/21/aisha-buhari-visited-less-privileged-children-umuahia/https://i2.wp.com/www.profjay.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Aisha-Abia-Charity_www.profjay.com_.jpg?fit=412%2C250https://i2.wp.com/www.profjay.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/07/Aisha-Abia-Charity_www.profjay.com_.jpg?resize=150%2C150News
