Jibrin’s Office At National Assembly Attacked
‘Emergency Activist’ and whistleblower on the budget padding scandal currently rocking the House of Representatives, Abdulmumin Jibrin has reported that there was an attempted break-in at his office in the National Assembly.
Jibrin revealed this in a tweet among several others on Thursday night even as he revealed that Speaker of the House, Yakubu Dogara has allegedly confiscated all computers used by his erstwhile House Committee on Appropriations.
“There has also been an attempt to break into my office at the House,” he tweeted.
But according to him, this attack does not faze him nor the confiscation of the committee’s computers becasuse he already has enough evidence to nail down the corrupt officials.
Jibrin, who also revealed more shocking updates about the happenings at the House in the wake of the scandal, said: “Speaker Dogara has ordered that all the computers in the appropriation secretariat be shut down and moved to his office as if that is the answer to the allegations I raised.
“The secretariat staff are being harassed to keep quiet and suppress facts.
“I know he wants to tamper with documents critical to his and the 3 others future investigation and prosecution but unfortunately for him we already have enough evidence in our possession. The security and anticorruption agencies should kindly take note.”
Meanwhile, Jibrin also took shots at a House caucus that supported Dogara against him and called his campaign against the House leadership a ‘dance of absurdity’. He noted that some of them were included in his petition to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
“5 members of the Gombe caucus addressed the press today (Thursday) in a show of shame and succeeded in only rehearsing the accusation of lies levelled against me by speaker Dogara. Two of them are part of the list of corrupt members I will be submitting to the EFCC.
“My response to them is they should simply read my full reply released yesterday and join the transparency group TG. An alliance of hundreds of members to cleanse the House of corruption and corrupt members. They act Honourably by calling on Speaker Dogara to listen to the call of Nigerians to reconvene the house immediately so that an independent investigation can commence.”
It would be recalled that the six-member caucus on Thursday disassociated themselves from “any conspiracy and attack against Speaker Yakubu Dogara and the entire leadership of the House.
“By reason of their leadership position, the Appropriation Committee conceded significant provisions to the principal officers of the House.
“But we are even shocked that Jibrin who is not a principal officer allocated provisions to his constituency far beyond what the principal officers he is accusing got.
“So, what is Jibrin’s point in this shameless dance of absurdity?”
